Finding clean, safe play spaces in Downtown LA can be tricky but, you just need to know where to look. One of our favorite places to run around is the Bank of America Plaza.
During the week, the plaza is filled with business people but, on the weekend it is very quiet. I enjoy bringing JR here to play because it is up, away from the street. Making it quite safe for run away toddlers.
There is a beautiful red sculpture in the middle of the plaza, “Four Arches” by Alexander Calder. It was commissioned in 1973 and was painted a bright orange-red that became Calder’s signature color. You can see another of his sculptures, “Flamingo” in Chicago.
Bring Your Pup
The plaza is also great to bring your dog. We actually started coming to this plaza with Boo Boo before we had JR. It is really awesome to have a safe green space for our baby and dog to play together. I still walk around the grass just to make sure there isn’t any broken glass or dangerous items.
